I understand that psychiatry is the medical specialty with the highest percentage of doctors being atheists. So, if we just die and go into the ground and nothing happens, then why should not all adults have the right to engage in suicide? I'm not stating that suicide is good or moral. I am trying to imply that using force and coercion to stop someone from engaging in suicide is wrong.
Why does events turn out like they do? What has history happened the way it has? It seems that individuals create history collaboratively. Good and bad choices are recorded. The creation of psychiatric holds, civil commitment and the insanity was perhaps useful at one time, but this all seems to not be useful now, ultimately.
Certainly, civil commitment might be good if it might enable one to have a chance of entering into Heaven. However, claims and theories such as this are the realm of theology. Civil commitment does not belong in a secular state which embraces authentic freedom, liberty and personal responsibility.
When will psychiatric injustices be stopped? Civil commitment and the insanity defense are the bedrock of psychiatric slavery. Read the books that the late psychiatrist Thomas Szasz wrote. Help stop injustices. Help to repeal unjust laws. Hopefully psychiatric slavery will be outlawed sooner rather than later.
